Seborrhoea
Seborrhoea is characterized by a
very greasy scalp and greasy hair. Seborrhoea
has also been linked with hirsutism
(excessive facial and body hair). The
condition can quite effectively
be controlled with specially formulated shampoos.
Seborrhoea is characterized by abnormal secretions of the sebaceous glands and can be controlled with medicated shampoo.
Seborrhoeic dermatitis is more
serious. It is a form of chronic eczema
resembling psoriasis and is characterized by large, greasy yellow scales.
It is not known what causes Seborrhoea.
Seborrhoeic dermatitis can be
treated with corticosteroid lotions
and antifungal shampoos.
