Hola, so I'm not emo/scene but I know a lot about the style etc. I really like the hairstyles and use to get choppy layers and straighten my hair everyday but I have stopped because it takes an hour to straighten my hair=D So this is my solution to go curly/scene.
1. Wash your hair w/shampoo etc.If you wan't you can use conditioner or get out and put in leave in conditioner.
2.Let my hair dry completely or wait until it's almost dry.
3. Using a comb I tease the top of my head. Add a little hairspray and shag my fingers through the sides.
4. If you have short bangs and depend on them to be straighten do so. I have mine chin length because it shapes my face and allows me to get them out of my face for tennis.
5.Add some color! Have fun, I have pink and turquoise in my hair. (Would show a pic but my camera is crap) But your hair should end up something like my picture on the left:
Hope I helped |

Ok this is what i do. I Wash it with only a little shampoo. Then I blow dry it. After it's dry (you might have let it air dry for a little bit) Then I straighten my bangs to the side. After that, Part you hair and put it in pigtails really low, to your ends. Straighten those. Like really Straight. Once that's done, take a bobby pin and pin up a strand on the opposite side of your bangs...Like it? |

I hav waistlength medium curly hair the best way to style this kida hair is to take a bath with lot of conditioner and while its still wet twist it with your finger and pin it up u can add low lights in vivid shades my hair is black btw so i use electric blue or red but if u hav light hair choose neon shades it looks awesome u hav to highlight if u are using the temporary kind before u pin it up; after its dry spray a bit of hairspray and voila u hav cool emo curls hope this is useful |

for me i have really curly hair that grows to my
shoulders then stops. a few years ago i had my
hair cut chin length- it looked good for the first
few days that it started getting poofy and since
then it hasnt grown much. what i am doing is
cutting my fringe back in slightly wonkily so it
covers part of one eye and curl it loosely. this
will make it look emoish and really good. im
making it messy and straitening some parts so it
looks really good. i cant dye it or put highlights
in but my hair is darkish brown so it doesnt
really matter. DONT CHEMICALLY STRAITEN YOUR HAIR
IT MAKES IT FALL OUT! this haircut makes you look
different and emo with a twist! i love it =)

I have curly hair as well, and for the past about 2 years I've straightened it DEAD STRAIGHT every day. However, it got so damaged (despite all the heat-resistant products I used) that now it just does not straighten. At all. I also have kind of the classic scene cut, with the shorter layers on top, and the long on bottom. So in the past few weeks I've been expirementing with curlier hairstyles, and I'm starting to love it. What I do;
1. Wash it.
2. Don't try and dry it, don't even wrap it in a towel. Just let it be while I do my makeup.
3. I pin up my bangs, and in the rest of my hair, NOT MY BANGS, I put in "Frizz Ease" curl booster.
4. I put my blow dryer on the lowest setting (out of the only two it has, lmao) and blow dry my hair from the bottom. I don't get it completely dry, except my bangs. I straighten my bangs.
5. I just mess around with it until it looks emo/sceneish and then spray it with "Frizz Ease" hairspray. that's it. I hope I helped |

Punk Hairstyle for Curly Hair: I too have curly hair. And even though I still haven't gotten it quite right, I am working very hard on it. So my tips:
1) Don't shampoo it too much, curly hair loves moisture.
2) DON'T BRUSH IT. Brushing it makes it poofy. Use a comb, and don't be afraid to leave it a bit knotty.
3) For the emo side-bang look, basically the only way that's gonna work is if you straighten or blow-dry your bangs out. If you're gonna do this, use a heat protectant so your hair doesn't shrivel up and die.
4) What I do is instead of straigtening all of my hair, I put it in braids, then straighten the bottom of the braids, so my hair isn't as poofy at the ends. Then just run the straightener through the rest of your hair so it's not as curly and more wavy.
5) Don't cut your hair short and get layers. That's like 500% garunteed to make your hair incredibley poofy. Instead, go for long gradual layers.
6) And finally, the last thing I do with my hair is braid it, then spray hairspray on the braids before I go to bed, then sleep on them. That will give you a more defined curl that will poof less.
Go crazy with color, though, and have fun with your makeup and clothing too. |

This isn't totally emo, but I think it looks kinda spunky :) Ok what I did was cut my (naturally and super incredibly) curly hair super short, past my shoulders, past my chin. Basically short enought that you can't put it in a ponytail. Do NOT layer it. Then, after you take a shower and while your hair is still wet, put a generous amount of leave-in conditioner in your hair. Make sure you part your hair somewhat to the side, then straighten your bangs so they slant diagonally across your forehead. You can cover one eye if your bangs are long enough. Putting a red streak in your bangs will look pretty cool too. Another trick I used is too NOT straighten by bangs, but leave them curly. Then put your hair in as tight a ponytail as you can (you'll need plenty of bobby pins, there are bound to be some stray strands) and then let the curly bangs just kinda stick out. It doesn't make you look totally emo, but throw on a black tank top and it gives you a total "Don't mess with me" look. Have fun ladies :) |
